I just started using this stuff this year and I think it stinks. Plus it stinks. I just got busted on a farm I hunt near Gracedale. I was downwind about 40 yds I think, and the deer was in thick brush so I'm thinking it smelled me. I never used this stuff before. I got it because I got a new pair of rubber boots from Cabella's that smell like a tire store. I tried Fox urine on them but it didn't cover the rubber smell, hence the scent eliminator idea. I'm so pissed that I thought about just shooting targets instead of deer. Targets don't care what you smell like, do they? I just thought some one might have tried this crap with the same results I'm getting. If it works for you then, maybee targets are my forte and not deer. I just started hunting again this year after 20 or so off. I'm being pretty good about not moving around alot. I think this stuff is wrecking my hunts. I have to blame something. |

I have a bottle of the earth blend also, and I think it smells pretty strong. I haven't noticed a problem with using it, but I don't use it often because of the smell. I believe in using silver as a scent killer. I have clothing that has silver in it, and it definitely has proven itself. Countless times, I have worn that while sweating in the early season, and not been busted by does that were downwind. I usually use Scent Away with the earth scent. It smells like dirt to me. I also use breath spray. I figure, I can't smell my buddies when I talk to them, but sometimes I can smell their breath. If we can smell each others breath, imagine how strong that must be for a deer. That might be more important than body spray, if your camo is clean. Now, I'm not questioning your hygene, these are just my thoughts. |

Thanks Port. I'll ramp up my process a little bit and see how that works. I washed my camo in baking soda and dried them in the dryer without any scent. I have a Scent Blocker jacket that is supposed to be activated by heat. So now that's done. I probably will still use felt wicks and doe in heat, but I think I'll quit the eartyh blend and fox pee. I went over to Miller's farm tonite to look around. Found a fresh scrape on the edge of that upper left field, but not anything real hot yet. The wind favors the deer in that corner. I'm going to give the AM a try on Wed and see what shows. I did see a dozen turkeys near that roof stand you were in, which was pretty cool! How bout you, any luck? ED |

No bucks for me yet. Rattled in a nice eight the other morning. He was young and sporting nice g2s, but only about twelve or thirteen inside. The kind you want to see grow up a little. I saw a bomber at the house yesterday evening, but things didn't work for a sneak. I'm still at it hard, though. |

I saw the first buck this morning. One horn why buck with no brow tine. 25yds broadside, release clipped on, waved him off. He sure was a friendly little bugger though. It's gonna rain tommorow but I think I'll head out to see whats movin. Gotta be in the stand to get shooting. Ron missed a nice 6 in the creek bottom with his crossbow. He had the limb against the tree when he fired it. Shot went left about 2 feet but didn't spook the deer, so maybee next time for both of them. One can only hope.ED |
