Only been out about four evenings so far this season, but two slick-tops down so far. Hay field queens arent fooled too easily.. THe second one has more meaning than any bucks Ive taken...it was the first deer my son was able to be with me when I shot. Took her tonight just before dark after I whiffed on a lead doe in a group of 8. wanted to crawl under the hay when my son realized I missed..lol Some more baldies for the next couple weeks, then its Halloween week for a bigun..But its already time to be thinking canines!! |

thanks guys.. I gotta admit Port, I was nervous...something about having the kids along. Ya just dont wanna let em down! And I dont hunt from a ground blind at all. I realized how much I use my core when I shoot from a tree or standing compared to what I could do tonite.. |

I missed a turkey with Heather along, and felt like shit about it. She told me it was because the blind was too small and we went out and bought a bigger one. Then she told my wife it was big enough for all three of us , so she would be mad I spent the money. The kid is on my side for sure. |

Awesome job on that doe and your son looks happy happy to be out there with his father killin deer. Gotta love the kids, they are the future to our sport. Both of my girls want to hunt with me but my 4 year old is just a little to young in my book. It wouldnt be so bad if she knew how to sit still and be quiet but for now i guess thats out of the question. My daughter Aliese is 11 about to turn 12 and wants to hunt with me real bad. This year was the year I was gonna take her but now that up in the air because both my blind and my feeder got stollen. Assholes have no respect for other peoples stuff out here. I cant wait to see a feeder with paint spots all aover it. I engraved my name all over the inside and outside of my feeder then went over it with a white paint pen. Hopefully ill come across it someday and make the poor bastard pay for steeling my shit and tresspassing on my property. |
